IIT Kanpur Foundation and IIT Kanpur Alumni Association are celebrating the Golden Jubilee of the Institute with a series of conventions worldwide in 2010. The US West Coast event is scheduled in Santa Clara, CA on July 16-18, 2010.
Reconnect. Rejuvenate. Rejoice.
The focus of the Santa Clara event is on you, the alumnus. Prior events have focused on important issues such as Innovation, Academia, R&D, Entrepreneurship. This event is all about you. You are the product that exemplifies IITK's excellence. By coming together into a cohesive and mutually supportive group, you can magnify your own professional impact many times over.
As an alumni of IITK you belong to a select group of 26,000 individuals, in the top ranks of their professional peers, growing at about 5% each year. Our dream is to turn the IITK alumni body into a cohesive group that we all turn to, any time we need to reach out for advice, partnering, or professional input. We hope that each of you can actively reach out to mentor, and bring along your junior counterparts and accelerate their success.
At this conference we plan to start this journey with all the fun and enthusiasm with which we formed bonds in our own batches while at IITK. The core of this two and a half day event is to reconnect as many IITK graduates to each other. Along with marquis keynote speakers for inspiration, we are planning to focus on networking, and most importantly, having fun. In keeping with the theme of networking, we strongly encourage individual batches to use this occasion for batch reunions.

The Golden Jubilee Journey
The inaugural celebratory event was held on August 8, 2009 at Kanpur, and the first alumni convention took place at IIT Kanpur during January 2-4, 2010 with focus on R&D. This was followed by the President of India’s visit to the Institute in February. Indian Prime Minister’s visit is also scheduled for the Golden Jubilee Convocation in May. In June attention turns to the Bangalore convention and in July to USA with Washington DC and the anchor convention in Silicon Valley.
You can catch glimpses of the Bangalore convention at iit-kanpur.tv, and bookmark the site for live coverage of the Washington D.C. and Santa Clara, CA events.
Please spread the word. Forward this link (or email) with a personal note to your batch mailing lists, broadcast the link on Twitter, tell your friends on Facebook, promote it on LinkedIn. This is the event where all of us can show that ‘IITK ka Tempo high hai’ and bring on the ‘mazzaa’.
Thanks!
